As with all downgrades on HP they are being dam sneeky and not listing the hardware. However i can see in the vista downloads its using a nforce chipset with built in ethernet. If you have the wifi side working go online and click this link. Under option 2 select motherboard drivers and see what nvidia offer you direct. That should clear the first three errors sound is listed as HD conexant which is not easy to get running under xp. You will need windows xp with sp2 installed sp3 will only make matters worse. Then you need to install the microsoft UAA driver first.
Here you can download drivers nvidia mcp73 lan controller phy: realtek rtl8201cl cp for Windows. It's 100% safe, uploaded from safe source and passed AVG virus scan! It's 100% safe, uploaded from safe source and passed AVG virus scan! Scaricare driver per nvidia mcp77 lan controller Gratis @ LastDev.com. LAN Controller (PHY: Realtek RTL8201CL/CP) PCI. Nvidia Mcp2 Lan Controller Phy Realtek Rtl8201 L Bl Driver File size: 26. Nvidia Mcp2 Lan Controller Phy Realtek Rtl8201 L Bl Driver is Google's default e.
After that has installed you can try forcing some of the conexant sound card drivers i have listed here. The built in self install in the conexant drivers will fail, just come up no supported hardware, that does not mean its the wrong driver. You can try forcing the driver by device manager or by using add new hardware wizard in control panel. Thanks for the help Davey, I went to the Nvidia site and i couldnt get the motherboard detector working. However, i did manage to track down my motherboard by process of elimination. So thats good! The SM Bus and coprocesser are now fixed!
But the Ethernet Network controller is still not working. Now i was flicking through my manuals and i think i read somewhere that the ethernet controller is 'integrated realtek 10/100' iv tried numerous different drivers and i cant get any to work lol Now as for the sound care. Iv got a stable driver working and its a recent one however, after installing the UAA first etc i still cant get the sound working. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again! Can you give me the Ethernet device id string as seen by windows. If you go in to device manager, look down the list for unknown network card.
Double click it, then click details tab with the sound its a case of try and try again with the drivers, they do need to be forced and the best way to do that is with found new hardware wizard, as you can force windows to load the driver if it don't want to. If the UAA driver installed you should now see in device manager unknown HD sound, if thats not listed the UAA driver did not fully install and should be done again. When forcing and installing drivers make sure any firewall and anti-virus software are fully shut down while you work or they will only add to your problems. Hey Thanks again Davey, Hmm i cant seem to find any id string that begins with PCI etc, just all start with 1 etc. I used the last install which you suggested, it didnt work. However i forced the driver and its moved the network controller from an unknown device to 'NVIDIA nForce networking controller' But its not functioning. (has that annoying little yellow circle) lol I have also fixed the sound card issue which is great, all i had to do was uninstall all the previous drivers and Conextant HD audio files and just reinstall the UAA files, then it auto searched for the required drivers.

Do you have any more suggestions on finding the correct id string or repairing the driver? Thanks again. Ok now is the time we try everest. Download and install the everest trial version. Install that on the laptop. Run that program, it will be limited but may give me what i am looking for. With the program running, look in the left hand list for network click the little + next to it, then click pnp/pci network.
See if everest can give us more info in that ethernet controller. Two other things you can try as well, now that windows does know its a nvidia of some sort windows update might be able to pinpoint it. Go online, go in to device manager, right lcik on the problem lan, select update driver option. Windows will auto search its own database plus windows online database looking for a better driver. Second try the nvidia site once more, but this time make sure all firewalls, anti-virus, and pop up blocker are switched off while you do the auto detect. IE will warn you about a active x if you do not accept that it will not run, so when the warning pops up accept it. Does sound like you forced the correct driver for the sound and did not know you done it as the UAA install did not fully work the first time round.
Once you do a force install with new hardware wizard even if it fails to work it stays in the windows cab files, so if it then thinks i have the correct driver it will use it. Well i am not 100% sure if everest is correct on that, however, the nVIDIA MCP67 - LAN Controller (PHY: Realtek RTL8201CL/CP) PCI is the one used by the DV9925nr and we have already tried and failed on that one, i think its the nvidia version of a realtek lan, that might be why vista named it as realtek when in fact it is a nvidia lan that needs the nvidia drivers.
Ths is a beta set of forceware drivers for the nforce AR chipset with built in lan. Another set to try would be the nforce 680sli. And the lan i just uploaded to this post which is the direct rip of the vista 32bit driver set listed at HP for your model.
Needs to be fully unpacked then forced as i removed all vista self install e.t.c. Thats the bare 32bit drivers only Attached Files (Size: 345.49 KB / Downloads: 6).
